| Trailer Training UK offer both LGV C1 and PCV D1 ambulance driver training courses. The LGV C1 driving licence is required to drive vehicles between 3500kg and 7500kg, and the PCV D1 driving licence is required to drive vehicles with more the 8 passenger seats.
Our driver training courses are between 3 and 5 days duration. Depending upon your driving experience and ability to fully prepare you for the LGV C1 or PCV D1 DSA driving test. If you are unsure which course you require we can carry out an assessment drive to determine your course length, Please call us for details.
 Our LGV C1 driver training vehicle is currently a VW LT 46 and our PCV D1 is currently a Ford Transit 430 which has the advantage of being small and manoeuvrable, with simple controls, brakes and gears, whilst meeting all DSA requirements to gain your LGV C1 and PCV D1 licence.
I need a LGV C1 licence to drive an ambulance and to be a paramedic.
The LGV C1 licence is for drivers who passed their car driving test after January 1st 1997 and wish to drive a van or rigid medium goods vehicle with a MAM over 3500kg and up to 7500kg. (most emergency ambulances). The LGV C1 ambulance driver training course is available for drivers aged 18 or over who have a full car driving licence.
I need a PCV D1 licence to drive an ambulance and to be a paramedic.
The PCV D1 licence is for drivers who passed their car driving test after January 1st 1997 and wish to drive a vehicle with more than 8 passenger seats. The PCV D1 ambulance driver training course is available for drivers aged 21 or over who have a full car driving licence.

Application - Apply for your provisional LGV C1 or PCV D1 licence entitlement D2 from DVLA - download the form from our website.
Call us - Book your driving assessment and course with us to secure your dates.
Theory test - Book and pass the LGV / PCV theory test.
Training course - Start your driver training course.
