The Non-Emergency Patient Transport Team (NEPTS) currently operates during the hours of 05:00am and midnight Monday to Saturday, Bank Holidays and some Sundays. NEPTS is responsible for transporting patients to and from treatment centres across Berkshire and surrounding area.
The service currently carries out in the region of 400 to 560 patient transport journeys per day.
As an Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) you will be responsible for the welfare of patients both on the journey and during transfer to and from the vehicle. Successful candidates will receive a structured training programme in the classroom and work-based in order to provide the level of care required. NEPTS is a uniformed service and you will be provided with a uniform.
We currently have positions available for full time, part-time and bank working staff based across
Berkshire.

Excellent driving skills? Essential for this role as the safety and comfort of the
patients are a priority. Excellent Communication Skills, you will be liaising with various Health Service
Colleagues and patients? The ability to operate communication equipment, Mobile phones,
Data equipment & Radio’s? A flexible attitude towards work & the desire to help other people?

An Unsocial Hours payment of up to 25% may be applicable to this position depending on unsocial hours worked. A 5% High Cost Area payment will be applicable to those staff based in the east of the county.
